Les Blessures de l'Âme

C’est une grande surprise de cette année !Midnattsol est un folk metal nordique groupe Norvègien. Ce genre de metal à voix féminines est très rare au monde , donc il est particulier. La chanteuse est la sœur de Liv Kristine de Leaves Eyes. Tout d’abord, Midnattsol, ça veut dire le soleil de la nuit en français. Deuxièmement, nombreux de guitares acoustiques sont utilisées dans cet album. Il nous présente un pure album de viking metal et folk nordique. Sa musique nous amène au paysage vaste de la Scandinavie , le territoire froid , sombre et mystérieux. Par ailleurs, il faut mentionner la belle voix de la chanteuse Carmen Elise Espenaes. Même s’il y a plein de groupes à voix féminines en Europe, mais il me semble que cela qui a une excellente voix ne soit pas beaucoup. De toute évidence, Carmen serait une des meilleures !Sa voix est  puissante , solide et vraiment inoubliable ! De plus, les paroles expriment l’émotion de l’amour, l’attitude de la mort également l’âme humaine. Cette œuvre nous montre typiquement la part la plus émouvante et tendre du metal. Il est bien sûr que cet album ne manque jamais de la puissance, on pourrait indiquer plusieurs impressifs heavy riffs dans chaque morceau. Bien qu’il n’ait pas de spécial sur les arrangements, les paroles,et même les solos passionnés, par contre, seulement la superbe qualité de l’enregistrement et la voix émotive sont suffisants de nous faire plaisir, en ce qui me concerne, j’avoue que je suis déjà fasciné par ce groupe ! J’estime que Where Twilight Drells serait le meilleur album du début de l’année 2005 que j’ai déjà écouté. Un nouveau grand metal groupe est né !

Generally speaking, I hate the commercial bands, I know that someone thinks why Epica is so successful is that the company makes much promotion for this band. In my opinion, even though this band becomes popular because of the effort of the recording company, it is certain that this band has a large potential and creativity. Maybe someone says they have too many elements which are familiar with Nightwish or Whithin temptation, I agree with it, because they are the same genre. However, it seems to me that Nightwish is a classic power metal band, and Within temptation express more sad attitude (the female voice nearly demonstrates this genre of heavy metal). On the other hand, Epica is much like the mixture of these two bands, and adds more symphonic elements in their works, the scream voice has already disappeared in the bands which we talked before, but in the music of Epica, it still exists. We can easy to say they maintain the original of Gothic metal and the cruelty of this type of music. Compared with the vocal of Nightwish, I prefer which of Epica, I think perhaps with the age problem, the youngest Epica possesses a sound more forceful and more solid. Some of slow pieces have inspirations of Evanescence, it doesn’t mean this band having relation with Evanescence.

The new album Consign of oblivion which I have listened before the date of release, I was really shocked by their performance! Because I have not listened the first album yet, I am not sure whether they progress or not. According to this album, I only can conclude that in the aspect of recording, it is fine and smooth, musically, it is lyrical and strong,

I am not in favor of the opinion that they have strong ability in writing complicated arrangements. Their forte is making an impressed album without using lengthy and tedious elements. This album begins with an orchestral track and melodic riff throughout all the works.

This year, I have listened too much black metal music, the Russian symphonic black band TVANGESTE's first album Firestorm(8/10) is one of the masterpieces this year, they mix many orchestra elements and shit coursed voice in it; The melodic black band, ILLNATH from Denmark, the evil music with some sweety female voice, makes me excited and tell me what is the real dark art, good release-Cast into fields of evil pleasure(8/10); I have just listened the new album of CARPATHIAN FOREST this year,although Defending the throne of evil(7/10) faced the audiences one year ago, I enjoy the vocal very much, but in brief, this album is lack of changing and variety; Nechrist(6,5/10) is the only pagan folk metal album I've listened this year, NOKTUNAL MORTUM may be the unique band from Ukraine I known, the racal folk music enable the tracks more diabolic; the Finnish melodic black band CATAMENIA's works Chaosborn(7,5/10) is mediocre, no passion,a small number of excellent guitar solo; OPERA IX changed the leading vocal and the music becomes simple, Maleventum(8/10) succeed in the slow-tempo sheet and accoustic guitar performance; Polish death metal giant BEHEMOTH released an album-Zos kia cultus(6,5/10) with much industrial inspiration, which makes the sound more aggressive and also makes the musical artistry reduced,they are the sons of satan indeed; I listened SIRENIA's first and new albums at the same time, there's no doubt that At sixes and sevens(9/10) is an outstanding release, contrarily, it seems that they merely concentrate in adding some black metal elements in the new album, double-bass blastbeating is good, but they have lost some of their oringinal things-the gloomy gothic arts; HYPOCRISY is my favorite swedish death metal band, whose releases have never made me depressed, even thought this is their fifth album since they have changed the musical genre a lot.The arrival(9,5/10) is really a black death masterpiece, they utilise keyboards just right and my metal idol Peter is proficient in both the performances of cruel death and infernal black metal.And what I review above is just a part of my listenings in 2004.More shit will be added...(to be continued)

En réalité, cette année il n'y a pas de bande de cette sorte qui vraiment me fais grand plaisir, pourtant,ce n'est pas qu'aucun album est remarquable. Sonata arctica, la bande finlandaise de power metal, a sorti un bon album-Reckoning Night(7,5/10), il continue à insister sa spécialité: excité, positif. Généralement, le niveau de cet album est plus haut que son dernier album(Winterheart's guild) qui me fait décevoir beaucoup, mais son défaut unique est qu'il manque une chançon lyrique et douce. Rhapsody, la grande bande de symphonic power metal d'Italie, a produit un album conceptuelle qui se nomme Symphony of Enchanted Lands II(8/10), le premier épisode est son album que je préfère. Dans cet album, il a ajouté nombreux éléments caractéristiques, par exemple, le folk italian, la néo-classisme musique et même le son de la scène.C'est une production excellent avec une atmosphère épique.Le nouvel album de la band française de prog metal,Adagio, Underworld(8/10) est aussi digne de nous intéresser, maintenant, Adagio est la chef bande en France et il est connu pour sa bonne technologie instrumentale, ce que je m'émeus, c'est la chançon-Promisses qui peut-être est le plus touchant de cette année, n'importe les paroles ou la mélodie...(à suivre)
